The PROVYS TVoffice implementation project in Slovak Television launched

The PROVYS division of DCIT company has started an installation of the latest version of PROVYS TVoffice system as part of the restructuring and modernisation process in Slovak Television (STV).

STV is a Slovakian public TV station operating two out of the four Slovakia-wide terrestrial channels, a significant producer of programmes, and the administrator of the largest Slovakian archive of television programmes at the same time. It was the broadcasting tradition of the former Czechoslovak TV established as early as in 1953 that STV continued in after 1993.

Programme planning and transmission scheduling in PROVYS has just been made fully operational; the system is yet to be installed in the archives, production and acquisition. The process is expected to be completed in 2004. Meanwhile, projects replacing also other parts of the integrated information system, such as economic software, technology systems, air-time sales software as well as hardware infrastructure with tight integration with PROVYS, will be launched within STV.

At the beginning of 2003 the new management of STV have begun a complete restructuring of the station, which this year should lead to increased audience share and balanced economy. They expect the replacement of the current information system to open new ways to utilisation of correspondent modern technologies together with an improvement in information support of internal organisation processes even after laying off more than fifty per cent employees. The changes will also provide potential for covering areas unsupported by an equivalent system so far, such as promotion planning, integration with an air-time sales system, integrated support of server technologies, open interfaces with external systems, and easy integration with standard office applications.

PROVYS TVoffice is an integrated software solution supporting major daily operations of broadcasters including schema scheduling, long term programme planning, programme library management, licence management, self-promotion management, transmission scheduling, tape management, and transmission evaluation. There is an extensive set of services included as part of the product from business processes analysis, system deployment and customisation up to user support.
