PROVYS plans for the year 2004

As the year 2003 has become history and the year 2004 is at its beginning, the PROVYS team unveils its development plans for the year 2004. These plans include strong generic features available across the PROVYS TVoffice product as well as module specific enhancements and new functions.

The PROVYS TVoffice implementation team announces the following changes in PROVYS TVoffice, which will be available to its customers in 2004 as part of regular upgrades or in a new implementation project:

  • multi-editing details - should you like to change more than a single object (programme/licence/tape record/ etc) at the same time with the same values just select them all and open the editing detail screen for all of them. Change required values and save the screen - the change will affect all selected objects while unchaged values will remain untouched (already implemented and in beta-testing).
  • dockable reports - do you repeatadly ask for read-only screens with the data gathered throughout the system? Would you like to see your reports on-line while "browsing" through your application? Would you like to have a graphical information (charts) embedded into your application? Employ the so called dockable reports - reports which remain plugged into the application with the advantages of dynamic refreshing according to your actions within the application (already implemented and in beta-testing).
  • MS-Excel-like filtering - to work more comfortably with the data downloaded from the PROVYS TVoffice server to your application list screens (like programmes, tapes, licences, as-run-log events etc) and to temporarily filter these data, open the FreeQuery filter and work as in the MS-Excel application with its filtering features. While changing the filter, your work will be restricted to your client station exclusively with no interaction with the server. And more - the filters will offer you a selection by lists of values downloaded into the columns available on the screen according to your configuration (already implemented and in beta-testing).
  • wizards and workflow support - do you have complicated processes using different screens of the PROVYS TVoffice application? Do you share you work with other users? You will then welcome the wizard and workflow support being prepared for the newest version of PROVYS TVoffice. This support will enable you to store definition of your workflows with links to screens, reports and data, open the workflows in separate cases and share these cases among several users. The workflow support will change your PROVYS TVoffice installation into a real driver of your internal processes and inter-user communication (alpha version will be available at IBC 2004).
  • financial operations - from now on all financial operations implemented by PROVYS TVoffice (licence activation, invoices, installments, licence value depreciation, production costs etc) will be supported by a financial management module following the IAS accounting standards. Operations available only in financial management solutions are now available in PROVYS TVoffice for your applications (already implemented and in alpha-testing).
  • stronger rights management - new functions are being implemented into the rights management module of PROVYS TVoffice to support corporate-wide rights management operations (licences shared among several brodacasters with reselling rules and support), pay-tv and movie channel restrictions, formula based licence activations, installments and other actions to derive the date of operations from actions made within the system, as-run-log reconciliation and many others (under implementation, beta version will be available during the spring of 2004)
  • content management - PROVYS TVoffice is now moving into the area of content management. With its strong programme description and classification features the solution is also going to be enhanced by the material tracking features, video-server content management, long-term archiving, on-line digital media preview and other features usual in content management solutions (alpha version is planned for IBC 2004).

The PROVYS TVoffice team is fairly confident that the features enhancing the product in the year 2004 will be beneficial for all of its current and future customers.
